Bishop Gruss was able to meet Pope Leo last week during his visit to Rome. "It is always a special privilege to have an encounter with the Holy Father," said Bishop Gruss. "In my brief conversation with Pope Leo, I told him that I was the bishop of Saginaw. A smile came to his face. I also assured him of the prayers and support of the people of the Diocese of Saginaw and thanked him for his ‘yes’ to taking on this most important ministry for the Universal Church. My encounter with him was truly a blessing."
