Catholics across the Church will observe Priesthood Sunday this Sunday on September 27, a special day to honor and thank the priests who have dedicated their lives to serving Christ and His people.
While priests are often recognized for celebrating Mass, hearing confessions, baptizing children, visiting the sick, and comforting families in times of loss, their vocation is rooted in something deeper: bringing people closer to Jesus Christ through the sacraments and daily pastoral care.
The observance also serves as a reminder of the importance of praying for priests, seminarians, and future vocations. Faithful are encouraged to pray for the holiness, strength, and perseverance of their priests and to support young men who may be discerning a call to the priesthood.
